Site not showing after setup

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Site not showing after setup

Post by malihu »

Hi all,

I just setup version 1.5.1 from scratch. The installation finished ok, but I get a page full of characters in the site home page. Admin seems to work as expected. You can check my homepage at http://www.malihu.gr.

Thanks

Ok so now please describe exactly how you installed it, what type of server, how/where did you unpack it, paste the info from System Information page...

More info the better...

I downloaded and unpack the package with winrar. I uploaded the files to my unix hosted server with filezilla. I recursively chmoded 777 the tmp, uploads and modules directories. I created an empty config.php file and made it writable. Then I followed the setup instructions.

The only error I got during install was this: Test for remote URL (test_remote_url): Not supported.

I paste the information below from admin.

I forgot to tell you that this was the second time I run the install script. The first time at the page where you give the database information I clicked on submit but my server gave me an internal 500 error. Then I closed my browser and did it all over again.

I only have an html folder. I have several domains in each one with each own site root. The main html folder is used for my utility domain. The hosting company is Cedant (www.cedant.com). I had no problems so far with their hosting service. I think I have setup CMS made simple in past succesfully (earlier version) on the same host.
