Hello, first time poster long time browser.
I checked a lot of old and recent posts trying to find a fix for this. Nothing seemed to work, many seemed to have the same problem.
When uploading large photos/images in the 1-6 MB range, the Image Manager will not display a thumbnail for them. As well, the Image Manager Edit option gives Internal Server Errors.
I notice in old posts that people had success changing the php memory limit to 30MB or higher. But mine is already 40M.
I checked the System Info for the memory problem, here are the results:
CMS Made Simple 1.5.1 "San Juan"
config.php php_memory_limit:40M
PHP Effective Memory Limit (memory_limit):40M Success
That is the max memory my 1and1 hosting will allow.
Any ideas? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Image Manager - Large Images No Thumbnails + Server Errors
Re: Image Manager - Large Images No Thumbnails + Server Errors
It is in your server settings as to how large an image/file you can upload, in the config.php or in system info. page you can see your limit...
There is a good chance that changing this will have no effect on your large image problem nor will it let the Image manager manipulate them, unless your uploading them to let others download them, if true make thumbs on your comp. with thumb_imagename.ext as the renaming style so tiny or other modules will see them, images of that size are not a good idea in websites...
