Italian holiday home -- site just converted to CMSMS

Post by backwoodsman »

This has just gone live -- I used to run this using DokuWiki.  CMSMS is definitely going to be easier!

http://www.castello16.com

I'm using CMSMS 1.5.1 with the following modules:

pre-installed:
    FileManager0.4.3
    MenuManager 1.5.3
    News 2.9.1
    Printing 0.2.6
    Search 1.5.2
    TinyMCE 2.4.0

installed by me:
Antz 1.0.0        ; not actually using this
Banners 2.2.1         ; not tried yet
    BlockBuilder 0.0.0.5  ; uninstalled
Captcha 0.3.2         ; not in use as I cannot understand how
    DLCodePress 1.0       ; uninstalled (*)
    DLSupport 2.0RC3      ; uninstalled
FormBuilder 0.5.6     ; yes -- got that to work
GuestBook 1.1.9       ; not tried yet
HitCounter 1.0.4      ; yes -- but may not be functioning?
LightBox 1.0.1        ; not tried yet
NeoGallery 0.1.1      ; not tried yet
PageBlocks 0.1.5      ; uninstalled (couldn't make blocks visible)
    Xinha 0.2.0           ; uninstalled (*)
    Xstandard 1.2         ; uninstalled (*)

(*) I commented on these editors a couple of days ago in the Modules forum, so I won't repeat comments here.

I make considerable use of a smarty tag I wrote based on the image tag.  I use this to insert "boxes" which can float right or left and have various different frame borders, and which can contain either an image or an html snippet, with or without a caption.  I also rely heavily on a trivial tag to clear:both that I wrote (though I suspect one probably already exists).

The rest is more-or-less straight out of the box -- the template and stylesheet are heavily based on the default ones.

Any comments welcome of course.

(PS the lists above were formatted tt but the preview still shows them proportional-spaced -- as is this edit box, annoyingly!)

Yes, It would have been good to give it -- I've added it to original posting now.

It's a very usable website to get around.

On the home page you have the text:

"what visitors say about "sweet sixteen" click here for some visitors' comments.

but there is no hyperlink to the visitor comments page.

Thanks, tinhat.  Done it now.  It's so easy to forget those little details...
