Hi.
I installed CMS Made simple, without any problems. But when the installation was finished I tried to hit my web http://www.michael-lindhardt.dk the error page "HTTP 404 page not found" came.
What can be wrong? By the way - I have opened my config.php for editing and is wondering what is "db_prefix"?
I tried to login via the admin page but I got the message: "username or password incorrect". I tried to put the settings for cookies at the lowest level, but still same problem. What can be wrong?
I have tried to delete the whole thing/all files and start all over again - installed it all, but I still have the same problems: "HTTP 404" and the login-problems! Please HELP!!!
Best regards
Michael
Installation OK - Then problems...
Re: Installation OK - Then problems...
Hi again,
Thanks for your input, Patricia!
I updated the database shema version from 1 to 14 and it seems like everything during the update was ok, but the problems did not disappear. I still can't enter the admin site and I can't see anything at my web site other than the HTTP 404 error page.
I don't have an index.html in the root - is that a problem? (but I have the index.php)
Best regards
Michael

Re: Installation OK - Then problems...
Sounds to me like it never did the database part of the installation. Not sure why it wouldn't have given an error, though.
Re: Installation OK - Then problems...
I'm sure that the database is totally messed up. Chances are the tables were created, but the data was never actually inserted. No idea why it would've happened, though.
Re: Installation OK - Then problems...
Yes, I had to uncheck the "Create Tables", otherwise I couldn't pass the installation process.
I still don't have any ideas to solve the problem! I'm keen to make my new domain running, so I'm sorry to tell you that I gave up and used another CMS. But thanks for your support anyway!

Re: Installation OK - Then problems...
I'm not sure of what excactly I did with the new CMS at that point! But I have 1 subdomain on the server, and I'll try once again. I'll return when I've tried it and tell how it went.

Re: Installation OK - Then problems...

I succesfully installed cmsms at http://cmsms.michael-lindhardt.dk !! I found out that the name of the host was not "localhost", but another name given by the webhotel.
The installation was quite easy and it seems like making new sites is easy too!
Thank you very much for your support!
Best regards
Michael
Re: Installation OK - Then problems...
This problem happens to a lot of people... Happened to me a few minutes ago... Why oh Why do people not read instruction given with server details !
Can easily be missed out on...
I have a question, any other file than config.php where databse info is put as I'm having troubles to login to admin, and I'm wandering if it could be because of some similar problem.
EDIT : I found solution to problem mentionned here and here is solution if someone else is having this problem : emptying all files in the tmp/cache folder on the ftp server then try to login into admin again. That did it for me... It came as a suprise that this should work but it did... (Be carefull not ot delete contentcache.php)
All the Best,
Thanks.
