Optimizing a CMSMS site

Hi everyone.

I was wondering what are some parameters I can change/things I can do to optimize my site. Also, were I to build an interface outside of CMSMS for updating content, would this cause problems with any caching CMSMS may be doing?

I'm using CMSMS version 1.4 with PHP 5 and MySQL 4.

what do you want to optimize ? speed, accessibility, security, usability, beauty... ?
Do you know how to measure what you want to optimize ? Do you have a test method and process ?

Why don't you use CMSms latest official stable version ?
Why would you need another admin panel ?
