Product sort and search by custom field

Hello everybody!

I would like to make a product catalog, and can't seem to find a module that has built-in support for ordering by a custom field. The closest thing to using them I found was the Products module, which is great by all means, but it doesn't order by them. Or, does anybody know any way to make it happen? Or another module for this problem?

I would also like something similar.  Can the Products Module have a custom sort order for the summary page?  Or can the "sort order" option be turned off?

With some modifications you can implement Table Filter Generator.
