update using ssh

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

I want to upgrade CMSms. When I use SSH; upload the package, unpack it ... will the new version overwrite the old version or do I first manually have to delete the old files?
Waarom zou het direct goed moeten gaan? Dan is alle lol weg ...
