Customise News Module

Hi

I have a client who runs a surf club for kids (called Nippers in Australia). They're like junior life savers in training. I've implemented their site using CMSMS and it's working really well and they're loving how easy it is to use.

They want a feature added to the news module. Here's the background...
There are several age groups broken into boys and girls groups.
Each week, an age group manager has to submit a report about their groups performance etc.
This report is submitted on the site (Latest News -> Age Reports -Boys or Age Reports - Girls) using the News module
Parents can then go and read the reports on the site

What they want to be able to do is send an email to the parents of a particular age group to let them know that the report is on the site and ready to be viewed. They want this to happen automatically once an age manager submits their news article.

The tricky thing is, each age group will have a different set of parents ie different group of emails for each age group.

Maybe this is not possible within the existing news module. If so, I'd consider development of a new module that does have this function.

Anyway please let me know if this is possible and idea of cost. Or if you need more info please me know.

It is surely possible, if you don't mind, that external tools will be needed (but it will be free). So I am interested. It will probably take around 3 hours, so I will do it for 20 USD.
