I'm OKAY with minor php and html....I've gone through 3 CMS systems and ended up with the one I'm posting on right now.
My problems are these....this is frustrating.
1. Themes. I try to follow said instructions for different themes that I download and I still can't figure out what folders to put what files. The documentation on the site just tells me a brief blurb about what I want to know and I don't get the detailed info I'm looking for.
2. Modules. I can install them.....I grant permissions to them. But I can't get them to show up in the main site. Example is SimpleViewer. I just can't get it to load on the website. I've used the {content} css code on the page and nothing. I cannot find a single writeup on making the modules show up on the site.
3. Generally speaking it seems to me you have to be very proficient in css and php to make this cms work. It isn't as user friendly as it looked and as I hoped for. Is there a way that this whole process can be made easier for me? I've been working on this for two days and all my site has is new pages on the menu........
Thanks in advance

Re: New to this with problems
Hi evolize,
When I originally looked at CMSMS I tried using some of the themes and didn't really got any satisfactory results. Watching this video was my eureka moment:
http://cmsmadesimple.org/uploads/media/ ... colate.htm
I realised that, unlike a lot of other products, you didn't actually need a 'theme' as such. You could use any old webpage as your design.
Assuming you haven't got any problems with your installation, the modules should work. Some are better documented than others. I would watch the video, work out how straightforward this CMS is to use before worrying about installing and using extra modules. In fact, once you've watched the video, and understand how to get some pages up with your own design, some of the module stuff you're stuck on at the moment will fall into place.
Good luck!
Nick
