Using Filemanager in frontend?!

Hi all,

I looking into a way to implement (within limits) the filemanager into the frontend.

I've looked at the uploads and downloads modules but they do not provide enough
functionality for the need I have.

I need to offer the "logged-in" user the possiblilty to browse through his own directories
and up-/-download/delete files in there.

I do not want to open a door to the backend, also because I want it to happen within the
layout of the frontend.

Any good suggestions?, to my feeling it would be possible to integrate the filemanager in the frontend.
