[solved] Blank Content / Page (no options to add or edit, etc.)

I installed 1.4.1; however the content page is totally blank.  There are no options to add, edit, etc.  I removed all the CMS MS files from my server and reloaded.  Same issue.  I have verified that I have permissions.  HELP!

Totally blank as in you view site and see nothing or in backend and it's blank or edit page and it's blank...

Really need more explicit info, is kind of vague ya know...

What is the system running, memory, php ver., etc....

Sorry but "I have a stain on my shirt how do I get it out" is about as helpful...

If I may venture to guess what Candace's problem is (because this is the problem I am having), I did a brand new install of the core files for 1.4.1 - English only....I have php 4.4.4 installed....and when I uploaded my template then went to the home page to modify it, the place where the Content area is suppose to be doesn't exist.  It says, "Content" but there is no content box to edit.

The install went well, and I simply went to the template area first to install my template - and that went well, too.  It's only when I went to the Pages section and brought up the Home page to edit that the Content area box was missing.

Any ideas?

Have you active debug in config.php and look in server logs?

Sorry, I don't understand the question - how do I active debug in config.php?

I "think" I did a checksum (having never done one before, I'm not sure if I did it right, and I looked for instructions but came up with a blank page on the search) - anyway, what came up was errors on 311 files, with one file missing - so I'm currently uploading the files again, then will do a reinstall to see if that makes any difference.

edit config.php and replace false with true:
$config['debug'] = false;

I have read this thread and tried many of the ideas.  Even downloaded all Library/ files from 1.3.1.  No luck.  Can someone please tell me very succinctly what will work??

Upload 1.4.1 and active debug in config.php and check for Error(1) in page and/or error in source html and/or error in server logs

- Upload 1.4.1 and install/upgrade
- Have you install/upgrade ok? If yes but after you have problem:
  - active debug in config.php (switch to true)
  - call your site/pages and check for Error(1) in page. Have you blanck page again? If yes:
    - look for error in source html and error in server logs

Try to put in config.php
$config['php_memory_limit'] = '32M';

mod_fcgid (FastCGI has many issue, search in forum for other infos)

I'm glad Candace was able to solve her problem, but mine still remains, even after dumping the entire program, then reinstalling the full version. 

I did have an "aha" moment when I realized the problem lies in the wysiwyg editor.  I installed FCKeditor, and when I switch over to that, that is when the content / edit box disappears.  It works ok in TnyMce, but I hate that editor.  In prior versions of cmsmadesimple, installing the FCKeditor was all that was required and it worked perfectly.  Now, however, there seems to be other things I have to do to kick-start the editor and I don't understand what all needs to be done. 

Is there instructions somewhere that tells step by step on how to get the editor to work properly?  Again, my search has come up with a blank page - but I just could be asking in the wrong way.  Thanks for any help on this issue.
