About CMSMS's implementation of keyword metadata?

Post by peedub »

Why does CMSMS implement its keywords metadata as actual text in the body of the HTML page and not at all in the Head of the HTML?

As a result, the keywords metadata shows up as black text at the top of my page. I realise I have to make this text white (which most likely means that something else in the site is going to turn white also...) but surely this isn't the best way to apply metadata into a web page?

Is there a way I can have the keywords metadata apply itself to the actual keywords metadata in the Head tag, rather than the Body? Surely this is what the Keywords meta tag in the Head is intended for...

Cheers.

You have the {metadata} tag in the right?...

When you add metadata in the boxes on the Options tab you still need to write just like you were to add it in the by hand...

Yep, I've got the {metadata} tag in the template.

In Global Settings, in global metadata I've got tags for just 'name=' and 'http-equiv='.

Do you mean that in the Options for each page I have to write the keywords with the HTML tags and formatting included? I can just type 'apples, bananas, cherries..' ?

Must be written like you were going to put it in ...

Don't forget to close it />  note the space before /....

If you type just text, apples, bananas, cherries, it will show in page...

That's odd, I never imagined it would need the HTML tags and such...

Thanks for pointing that out Mark.

That's because it may be keywords or some other such thing as in JS for album or any number of things you may put in the of a page, like an IE style, etc., it uses the {metadata} tag but doesn't have to be metadata that gets spit out
