Gifs won't work in Admin or on site

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Gifs won't work in Admin or on site

Post by Josie »

I just installed CMSMS and for some reason the admin panel gifs (everything from logo to wysiwyg icons) won't work. Gifs on the site are screwed up too.

I tried reinstalling twice (2 different versions of CMSMS) b/c I thought maybe it was just a bad install, but got the same results.
Now I'm wondering if it's a server/hosting issue?

You can see what I mean if you look at the homepage logo: http://studiosalonscc.com/index.php

Attaching a screenshot of the admin panel so you can see the messed up images there too.

Thanks for any suggestions!

When I see your current site, you are using version 1.2.3

My first advise is to start all over and install 1.4. Also you might want to overwrite your image files, there is a chance they are corrupt.

First thing is to update to the newest version.

I tried 1.4 first and I had the same results. I then attempted to use an older version because I thought maybe it was an issue with 1.4. Again, same results, the images won't display properly. I've also tried overwriting all the image files and that doesn't help.

Any other suggestions?

nm, looks like filezilla just kept corrupting the image files. i ended up overwriting them using a different ftp program and that resolved the issue. gee that was frustrating...

thanks,

Use "freeFTP" a very easy to use program.

Maybe you didn't have the overwrite set correctly, did you ever just delete them before reuploading...

Please to add [solved] to first post subject...
