Page alias problem with NMS

I've had this problem occur with more than just NMS, but most recently I've started to get this problem.

I have a site set up with a single template.  There is control in this template to add extra content to the home page, which has a convenient alias of 'home'.  I also have a blank page set up, aptly named 'blank'.

When I try to access the user settings of NMS, I am shown the settings properly, but the page also has the extra content reserved only for the home page.  I double checked my control, and then saw that the page alias the settings page thought it was on is actually home. I do have 'home' setup to be the default page, but cannot figure out why NMS believes it is on the home page.

To test things, I set 'blank' to be the default page, and it was the same problem: the NMS settings showed up with the 'home' content.

Can anybody help me out with enabling all NMS settings pages (user settings, confirmation of subscription, confirmation of unsubscription, etc) to not show the 'home' content?
