[Solved] Your mail settings have not been configured

Post by Daniel »

Hi, just upgraded to CMSms 1.5 Jamaica, and I'm getting this message on the admin frontpage:

"Your mail settings have not been configured. This could interfere with the ability of your website to send email messages. You should go to Extensions >> CMSMailer and configure the mail settings with the information provided by your host."

However, they are configured, and sending a test email from CMSMailer works fine.

Any suggestions?

When you go into the CMSmailer function, and press Submit there, the CMSmailer will ask if the notification could be removed. Until then it will show in the backend admin...

Thanks for the reply, RonnyK.

When I press Submit at the bottom of the CMSMailer page, it asks me if it should write the settings. I click OK, it saves and I go back to the backend home, but the message is still there.  :-\

I just upgraded to CMS Made Simple 1.4 "Jamaica" and I am experiencing a similar behavior. When I enter the settings and hit submit, it confirms that I want to write the settings, butjust returns me toi that page and does not remove the error messge from the admin Main page.

I've clicked the "Send a Test Message" button, as well as "Submit" but I'm still seeing the big red box with the alert in it on the home page.

Is there anything we can do to make it go away?

Its funny because I just updated 3 different sites and one of them, the alert went away after clicking submit.  But for the other 2, its not disappearing.  I thought it was my cache, so I cleared that but its still there.

I had a co-worker check it on a different computer and its still appearing for him as well.

Nevermind.

It was an FTP issue.  Apparently when upgrading, FTP didn't overwrite all the old files.  After re-uploading, clicking "Send a Test Message" and "Submit" worked. :)

Ah, thanks sweaverit - I reuploaded 1.4 and it worked as it should.  I had wondered why the CMSms site said Main had become CMS on the admin menu in 1.4 when it didn't appear to have changed in mine - turned out not all files had uploaded.

Thanks!
