Can't install Search module

I just updated to version 1.3.1, hoping that that would solve my problems with the Search module: it showed in the Modules list, but couldn't be installed.

Unfortunately, the problem wasn't solved.

I tried removing the search module via FTP and re-installing it via CMSMS. But all it does is place it in the Modules list.
After I press 'Install', for a while nothing happens and then an empty page shows up.
What can I do to solve this problem? I really need the Search function...
