Help with header div

Help with header div

why cant I get anything else to display on the same line as the header logo.

IE 2 div on same line

I used to using dreamweeaver and manage to bodge through most things.  i just want an area top right where I can stick adverts.

I'm using a copy of Left simple navigation + 1 column

This should be in the HTML/CSS area, as it's not a question about CMSMS functionality.
