Well,
SEO, CMS, Acessibility and Full Flash Site at the same time with CMS Made Simple
check http://www.restaurantekinoshita.com.br
check the source code, and see it with a text browser or non flash capable.
it´s a new approach for SEO and accessibility using CMS made simple.
check it out and give some reviews. I did it using the Object Tag (see link below message)
CMSMS Diferrent Approach Flash Site
Re: CMSMS Diferrent Approach Flash Site
more info:
1. The texts will be dynamic, so the flash content text per page resides into cmsms database in a content block.
2. Each page has Flash Content and XHTML compliant content that are identical.
3. The XHTML content is inside the Alternative text to the Object Tag.
4. All pages have links so http://www.restaurantekinoshita.com.br/saque.html will redirect the flash content to the correct page, using the current flash movie.
5. This is a valid SEO and Acessibility practice according to google, i´m just providing the same content using the etich of putting it inside a alt parameter.
6. The menu will be built using the CMSMS structure.
Done just using CMSMS basic features plus a php interface to exchange CMSMS data with flash.
That´s it. I would like some reviews, if possible. Soon there will be english and japanese versions, following the same standards.

Re: CMSMS Diferrent Approach Flash Site
One problem I can see is if CSS styles are turned off then it doesn't work so well. You actually have to have flash disabled for the text site to show through.
Second is that many device still don't have flash or at least one which works very well - phones/mobile devices/iPhone/webTV ?
Thirdly the design is hard to read in terms of the text - too small font and not enough contrast for anyone over 35 I'd suggest. Also I cannot alter the font size or switch to the 'text view'.
Although it is not a route I will be pursuing it is a clever use of CMSMS
Hope this helps,
Russ

Re: CMSMS Diferrent Approach Flash Site
Haven't worked out how to turn flash off in a hurry but blinding design anyway Viebig.

Re: CMSMS Diferrent Approach Flash Site
Of course there are limitations.
I will change the bgcolor to help with the contrast.
Anyway, it was designed for purely alterative accessibility support, since the main site is fully flash.
Changing the font size by js or css dont mean anything to me. Blind and low vision people have their own browsers, configured in a way to automatically do that.
Buttons to change font size and contrast are just a fancy fake way to claim acessibility support, but useful when the user dont know to do use the directly shortcut of the browser.
In my 320x200 IE Mobile, Minimo, and Opera Mobile works well. In Amaya it´s ok.
This site is compliant with WAI priority 1, 2 and 3.
That´s my first idea, anyway.. thank you very much fo the reviews

Re: CMSMS Diferrent Approach Flash Site
turning flash off is very difficult
I recommend using Amaya browser/editor.
It´s tiny, XHTML compliant and free!
check www.w3.org/Amaya/

Re: CMSMS Diferrent Approach Flash Site
If I use adblock it takes the swf away and it shows nothing in its place...
Re: CMSMS Diferrent Approach Flash Site
yes that´s true.mark wrote: If I use adblock it takes the swf away and it shows nothing in its place...
AdBlock just prevents the swf file to be loaded, but at the same time it dont show the alternative content of the object tag. That´s a good suggestion to addblock developers.
There should be an extension that simply disable flash(I dont know why its so difficult) I´ll get in touch with Adblock and Web Developer extensions dev teams, and request this feature.
I´m trying to get a middle term between flash, acessibility and seo.
Try Amaya.
