[SOLVED] Menumanager menu not appearing

Hi All,

I am using CMSMS version 1.2.29, menumanager 1.5, PHP 5, Apache2 & MySQL 5.0.32 running
on Debian Etch.

The website's main page uses a menu called 'wcss-main-nav' created with menu manager.
Menu code is as follows:




Welcome
About Us
Early Childhood
Primary
Waldorf Education
FAQ
Resources
Practical Matters




The main page is using a a template with appropriate associated stylesheets which refers to the above menu as follows:
      ...
      ...
     
 
              {menu template='wcss-main-nav'}
         
       
        ...
        ...


The problem is that the menu originally renedered perfectly, but then out of the blue it has stopped rendering
the menu altogether (I even created other menus with menu mangaer and they too did not render). I have tried
clearing the cache, restoring the database to a previous backup (when the menu was rendering), checking the
stylesheets, poured through every imaginable log file on the webserver etc... and can not find any reason for the
issue suddenly appearing.

Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What about removing dashes from identifiers ?

Are your menu templates file based or database backed ?

What is your CMSms version actually ? 1.2.29 is strange...

How are {menu ...} calls doing with various parameters except templating ?

Menu templates are database backed.

CMS version is actually 1.2 (Schema version was where the 29 came from - Oops).

Other {menu ...} calls are working perfectly, in fact templating also seems to work for
file based templates?

Try an upgrade to latest stable. 1.2 has known bugs.

If the issue is still there after the upgrade, please explain again the most simply you can what works and what doesn't with simple examples (pages templates, {menus ...} calls, menu templates, CSS, anything that could help).

I upgraded CMSMS to 1.2.5 but that did not make any difference

I did however notice that the MenuManager module version stayed
the same (ie was not upgraded).

I will come back you with as much of the other requested info as
possible probably tomorrow.

Thanks again for all your attempts to help - hopefully we can get to
the bottom of the problem sometime soon.

Hi All,

I have discovered why my menu had disappeared - I feel a bit silly, but the home page
and several other pages had the show_in_menu parameter turned off in the options tab.

I know that all the pages originally had this set to on because the menu originally worked.

It seems that when a user belonging to the Editor group modifies pages the show_in_menu
parameter is turned off. I have also had instances of pages again modified by 'Editor' users
causing the page to be set to inactive - I will confirm this and then make a CMSMS bug report.
