where to put adsense/ypn code?

i'm workiong on my first site with cmsms and i've gotten to this point:

i want to integrate some adsense/ypn ad codes into my templates, but i'm unsure about how to do it, and what would be some good spots for it. could someone give me a couple of pointers on how to integrate this code into the templates, which templates it should go to, etc. also maybe a couple of suggestions on where those ads might be best integrated into the cmsms standard layouts i'm using?

can i set that tag up to work with YPN, since i don't use adsense? or, can i create my own tag for YPN?
