Index.php not coming up anywhere

Hi folks.

I am not completely new to CMS's and have installed Joomla and mambo with varrying levels of success but would truly like to use CMS MS for my site.

I have checked with my hosting service and all minimums are met as far as PHP, sql, etc.  I'm using shared hosting via:
www.websitesource.com

I've downloaded the tar.gz for 1.2.4 and extracted it to my web server's root.  It created the cmsmadesimple-1.2.4 directory which I believe it is supposed to, and I have also uploaded a blank config.php file as well.

When I go to:
www.mydomain.com/index.php
I get, "HTTP 404 Not Found
The page cannot be found
The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------"

I want this site to appear in my root directory and am baffled as to how to make this installation work.  I have created the sql database with user, etc. but could truly use a hand with this problem.

Copy/move all of the files/directories from the cmsmadesimple-1.2.4 directory to the website root directory.
