Hi,
I have a serious problem (I think) in my CMSMS site admin.
Testing the News module, I created a My category, and after I deleted General category.
So I made my news content and I associated them with My category.
Well, I don't know why, but now there's no News item in my admin top menu > Content!!!
I disinstalled and reinstalled hte News module two or three times, but nothing change!
Please, help me, and don't tell me I have to reinstall CMSMS on my web server.
Thank you very much.

Re: News module problem
Dear Patricia, thank you for your answer.Patricia wrote: 1st thing. if you desinstalled and resinstalled, check you have permission if admin group.
2nd: do you insert news with add a page and change content type = news?
or you add a page content type = content, and then in it you add {cms_module module='News'}
Myself, I never user the content type = News, and always use the above smarty tag in a content page.
I you did the same, copy here the smarty tag you used (or if you specified a category)
I'm pretty sure this is not big problem, just a setting.
1st: I don't reinstall yet, and permissions are 755.
2nd: I tried to use content type = News, but I leave this way because there were some little problems, like unviewing of articles in the {content} area...
Anyway, I put my "Lorem ipsum" text into a new page with content type = Content and {cms_module module='News'} added in my template.
Then, in admin it seems ok; in frontend there is my News and Events menu item and... no content inside the page!!!
I think that no presence of "Content > News" item in my admin top menubar is actually a problem; not serious I hope. However, it's very strange: no errors are shown by the CMSMS...
Do you think it's something different?
Thank you.

Re: News module problem
YESSSSS, Patricia, yes!!!Patricia wrote: yes, I was talking of permissions "modify News" in admin menu->users&Groups->Group permissions-> choose the group Admin, and see if "modify News" is checked. (btw, check if some other modules permissions are missing there also)
It was the "problem". Permissions were modified by undo/redo installing News module more times!
Still remains the unviewing of contents I put into my news page by using the {cms_module module='News'} into my template...
Here is the backend:
{cms_module module='News'}
and this is the frontend:
As you can see, there's no content inside star and end of template.
Can you help me again?
Thx

Re: News module problem
Yes again, Patricia...Patricia wrote:
make sure that page is attached to that template... or maybe you didn't re-add a new news item (which is also lost when uninstalling news module, because when uninstalling, news database' tables are dropped)
I cannot see what else it could be
I wrote and I didn't reattach the page to the News module.
Thanks a lot.

Re: News module problem
Another thing.
Now I have may page index.php?page=news with title, postdate, summary text and "more..." link to detail page.
Well, neither news title nor "more..." link goes to detail; I mean the browser displays the detail page moduleinterface.php?module=News, but contents are the same of summary and news title disappear!
What I wrong?!?

Re: News module problem
No Patricia, the code you edited is right, not the news content viewing.
