PHPLayers & CSSMenu Dropdown

I have CMS 10.3 installed with both PHPLayers Menu and CSSMenu. While the drop-down menu displays in the default template for PHPLayers, it does not display in my template. I can't get the dropdown to show at all for the CSSMenu.  My template is HTML 4.01 transitional and I'm using a table layout. I can style the PHPLayers menus I just seem to get the dropdown to work in neither vertical or horizontal mode. Any recommendations?

Hey Jab,

I had a similar prob, not sure if this will help you but i removed any styling I had in the tag and then my dropdowns appeared.

I ended up converting the template from HTML to XHTML and in the process removed the style in the body tag. This seemed to work. I assumed it was due to the XHTML conversion. Now I am curious if I had just removed the body style whether this would have done the trick. I will try your suggestion on an HTML template to verify that it would have worked without converting to XHTML.
