creating a new database to use CMS Made Simple

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

creating a new database to use CMS Made Simple

Post by Overlander »

Hi
I have decided to go with CMS Made Simple. My website host said:

The requirements for installing the CMS are met on our servers. The only
problem would be that it is not possible to create a new database since each
account comes only with a single database. You already have a database called
_____ with  username _____ . It would be possible to use a prefix for the
existing one to use for the cms. Please contact cmsmadesimple.org and they
might be able to let you know if it would be possible to do and so and what
changes would be required for this.

Can somone please give me some advice on what to do now?

Hi Overlander,

Nice that you've decided to go with CMSMS. Take a look at step 6 on this page: http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/quick_install.shtml

During the installation process (step 10 on the link above), use the database name and username and password for the database that your host has provided you with. You can leave the table prefix being cms_, which iit is by default. That means that all tables in your database that are used for CMSMS start with cms_.

Let us know if you encounter any problems during installation and we'll try to assist you!

:-)
