Post by leifnicholz »

Hello to everyone,

I am new to CMSMS and PHP. I have finished installation and the site is doing pretty well.. but i got this big problem with the file manager in the the admin panel.. it won't let me create a new subdirectory or upload new files..

everytime i try to create a new directory, i always get this error message:

     "An error occured while trying to create the directory (Troubleshooting)"

and this message appear whenever i try to upload a file:

     "filename falied to upload successfully (Troubleshooting)"

i'm using CMSMS version 1.2.4 "Greenland", IIS 5, and MySQL..

Please help..  ???

It's a permissions problem. You'll have to find out what changes you need to make to the web directories to make the uploads directory writeable by IIS.

Hi Nullig,

Thanks for the reply... I changed the permissions on my directories and it worked.. i was able to create a new directory and upload a file.. but i came across a new problem now.. when i tried to delete the new directory i just created, i got this message:

  "An error occured while trying to delete the directory (is it empty?) (Troubleshooting)"

and yes, the folder is empty...

What about delete or control? I'm not sure what the windows permissions are supposed to be.

There is no delete or control option. Below is a list of the options available:

* Script source access
* Read
* Write
* Directory Browsing
* Log visits
* Index this source

Sorry, I don't use windows servers, so I can't help you with this. You're probably gonna have to search through the Microsoft help areas.
