Inside editing - is it possible to realize in CMSms

Post by marcgeldon »

I think CMSms is really one of the best CMS out there - especially for the type of websites I have to handle.

More and more my customers ask for inside editing (this means: the WYSIWYG editor is visible in the frontend page). Other CMS call this inside editing or inline editing.

Is something possible to realize in CMSms?

Has anyone ever thought about such a functionallity?

Is anyone interested in creating a module for this - I would really like to contribute to such a module project.

Hope to hear from you soon. Let me know what you think.

Best wishes,

Marc

Hello,

There is at least the {edit} tag.
I have no opinion on this topic but I'd like to know if customers can't live without "inside editing".

Hello Pierre!

I mean that the customer can edit the content INSIDE the design (template) - WYSIWYG editor shown in the "{content}" area.

"{edit}" is not that what I mean.

Is "inside editing" really needed? Well... that would be the same question like "is WYSIWYG editing" really needed? It makes everything easier for the customer - this is my opinion. And there are many CMS out there where "inside editing" is standard.

There is a module "Inline Editor" started by silmarillion, but with no activity...(the module is quite new, though...)

This is in the philosophy of the world wide web: pages should evolve and should be easily editable. As long as some security is maintained, anything that can make modification easier and faster is welcome.
