multiple vendors - one master control panel

hi Guys, thought I would post here first prior to more detailed discussion in other board.
I am in the process of establishing what would best be decribed as an online shopping center.
A web site that includes many vendors or sub sites.
At present the only way I can see to achieve this is to have multiple copies of CMSMS with their multiple databases running concurrently in teh one main site [ with it's own copy and database]

In this case I would have 13 cmsms running simultaneously including the site management cmsms.

Using the user group system unfortunately doesn't allow enough privacy fro the individual vendors. Ie. image library and other modules need to be exclusive only tot eh owner/vendor.

So essentially,
I need to come up with a way to provide multiple vendors a complete cmsms using only the one master cmsms.

They woud log onto the same login page but load their own complete version of cmsms control panel with it's own file systems and image library etc etc...

any ideas on how this could be achieved woud be most helpful....

Some of the features that are planned for post-2.0 releases:

    * Multi-site installation


however there are a few tricks around the forum for multi sites running off one install.
