Hi
I've been using CMSMS for a while and things have always gone pretty well until now.
I'm using webcentral.com.au as the hosting provider (the client already had a plan with them, not my choice).
I've got PHP enabled, index.php defined as a valid start page e.g. www.domain.com/ = www.domain.com/index.php
I've got a mysql db setup.
I only have FTP access and unfortunately I cannot see the log files for PHP or Apache...
I've copied the latest version of CMSMS on the server (1.2.3) and all the permissions are set correctly.
When I go to www.domain.com/cmsmadesimple/ it redirects to a blank page with the following URL www.domain.com/install/index.php?sessiontest=1& I can't get any further than this.
I've never seen this problem before and without access to the log files I don't know where to start, I'm hoping someone else has seen this problem before!
TIA!

Re: Can't get to install screen
Please talk with the hosting provider:
We can't even discuss if it's a CMS problem or not until we see some error messages.
It's like asking somebody to guess whether the Afghanistan issue is Germany's fault.
(sorry everybody from germany)....
I'm gonna duck now.

Hi, I realise that it's hard without an error message. I was hoping someone would might have seen these symptoms before.calguy1000 wrote: Please talk with the hosting provider:

I've done a bit more digging around. my phpinfo script seems to show that everything is running normally, but it also appears to be a windows based server so I expect it's using IIS and not apache.
I've had a few cracks at talking to the hosting company, but they're next to useless and it takes about 30 minutes to get through each time...
Re: Can't get to install screen
can you confirm you have the minimum requirements?
http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... quirements
including sessions & tokenizer support

including sessions & tokenizer support
Re: Can't get to install screen
tokenizer and session support are both enabled
session
Session Support enabled
Registered save handlers files user
Registered serializer handlers php php_binary wddx
tokenizer
Tokenizer Support enabled
wddx
WDDX Support enabled
WDDX Session Serializer enabled
safe mode is off
It's all running on IIS 6
I got one of the guys at webcentral to look in to it, only took 30 minutes for him to tell me that PHP was installed, even though I told him myself, then 15 minutes later he came back and said there are no errors in the PHP log files, but I can't even be certain he looked at the right thing...

Re: Can't get to install screen
erm. its funny, i started on an IIS server, and now i know hardly anything..
try uploading again with a reliable ftp tool? http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php/FTP_program
check if FastCGI is enabled/disabled?
recheck permissions? recursive or whatever windows likes
find a unix host, or ask for the error logs.

Re: Can't get to install screen
