Hiding the search facility

Hi,

Is it possible to hide a facility; search or news, until a user logs in?
Can this be done using the customContent module?

sure can, there are plenty of posts in the forum for displaying data after a user logs in.

I was looking for this feature as well and did use the visual tutorial for protecting private data. What I'd like to do is not even show that there is private data unless you are in a group that is allowed to see it. So is there a way to not even display an item unless you are logged in and are in the right group? Thx. -steve-
