Moved CMS to new server, CAN add pages, but cant see edited/updated pages live.

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Moved CMS to new server, CAN add pages, but cant see edited/updated pages live.

Post by duplay »

Greetings-

I had a physical web server (then did a P to V) which is basically taking an image of the server and placing it in a virtual environment (same settings and IP). Now, I can see all of my pages, login fine, can create new pages, but when I go to edit any page, the page appears to be edited, I add my text, hit apply or submit, and the live page doesnt reflect the changes????

Permission issue?

Windows 2003 Server
Mysql on separate server

Have you tried clearing the cache in Admin?

Thanks - I did from from the admin panel and nothing, but if I go on the server and manually empty the tmp/templates_c folder and tmp/cache folder it works now.

any idea why this makes a difference and why admin wont empty these?

Perhaps because they were created on the old server, or permissions on the files.
I always make it a practice to empty the cache directories before moving a site. That way there's less files to move and less problems like this.
