Can you restrict selflink "prev" and "next" to a specific menu level?

Post by leslie894 »

Hello,

Warning: I'm extremely new to CMS.

I want to create a "sub" site within a "main" site but do not want to use a separate installation of CMS as I want the sites to share the news module, calendar, etc. They also share the same style.

However, within the "sub" site, I don't want the relational links at the bottom of the page to navigate upwards, but to cycle only within the pages of the "sub" site. Is there a parameter that would restrict selflink "next" and "prev" options to a specific menu level and below?

Alternatively, is there an extension that accomplishes this?

The "main" site in question is
http://www.brunskillkcc.org

The "sub" site in question would be the "School Community Council".

If not, it might be in an idea for future releases to build in a little more control over the relational links in relation to the menu structure.

Incidentally, you certainly deserve your name CMS "Made Simple"! I decided to try your system a week ago to set up this school site and other than tweaking the templates and stylesheets, it worked "right out of the box". My previous experience with setting up sites with portal software required a lot of time learning the code so I could hack it appropriately, which of course makes upgrading very difficult.

Thanks!

Leslie

P.S. I did read the "Read Me First" post and I did do a search but found nothing related to this specific problem.
