Backup module on 1.2.3

Post by casidougal »

Not sure if anyone else is interested in this topic still, but I'll throw it out here just in case.

I found I can get the Backup Module to backup and restore with no (apparent) problems by swapping out the 1.2.3 lib/adodb_lite folder with the lib/adodb_lite folder from the 1.0.8 install.

This would be monumental if it doesn't cause any other problems, have you noticed anything and how long have you been using it this way...

Attention because there are security problem in old CMSMS version for adodb_lite.
You must check the changed in adodb_lite 1.1.X

Not much, but I've not found any issues yet.

Totally agree, there is a risk that this configuration may cause compatibility/security issues . . . one thought I had in posting this work around is that people may want to temporarily swap the adodb_lite folders just to easily migrate a site from a pre 1.x version of CMSMS, and then swap back to the default 1.1.x adodb_lite folder.

Still leaves the problem of not having an easy backup module for non-technical users and editors. I'm hoping that CMSMS 2.0 will incorporate this feature.
