[solved] Method for updating an installed module

Post by drew »

Hello,

I'm progressing with our site development, and have noticed that the Forge lists a few 'newer' modules than those provided by cmsms 1.2.3.  The module manager has module 'install option but does provide any means for 'updating' an installed module.

It there a recommenced method for updating installed module?

I was thinking of first uninstalling the old module and then installing the new one but wasn't sure if there might be side affects or problems doing it this way.

Thank you for helping.

hahh, found it.

The Module summary page gives you the option uninstall and upload modules.  There is also an "Overwrite existing modules" checkbox that should do the trick.

After uploading the module, status changes to: Needs Upgrade and action changes to: upgrade.
Press the upgrade and new version is installed.
