Rogue <br/> tags in global content blocks

Hello
I've got 2 sites in dev at the moment, both of which use global content blocks. My problem is that a tag is being added to the end of the gcb code when inserted into a content block. I edit the page and view the source which tells me that there is no , but when I view the page online and check the source, the tag is back. Anyone else had this problem. I'm running 1.2.2 on a linux box.
