Hello everyone,
I'm quite happy with the easy installation of CMSMS. I have it running in on virtual LAMP appliance under vmware. If anyone is interested, virtualappliances.net has a nice and "small" Ubuntu-based LAMP.
Now that I'm ready to define a custom layout for the site content, what should I do with the default "sample content"? Is a simple removal via admin page the most common method used by site developers or is there something better to create a clean site?
Thanks for all suggestions.

Re: Install done - what to do with sample content
I always like to 'keep' the sample content and templates, atleast until I'm ready to roll out the site.
I'd recommend you create a new 'section header'.... and mark it as 'not shown in menu'. then change the parent of all of the existing top level pages to be a child of the new 'section header'.
Later you can just delete this section header and everything under it.... but the default content is good to have around for a while as a reference

Re: Install done - what to do with sample content
Thanks for those ideas.
I did hesitate in selecting the sample content option during installation. But the content turned out to be quite useful in getting acquainted with the system layout. I will consider not selecting it for new clean installs.
The 'section header' suggestion is also appealing because it keeps a 'reference' that can be used during site development. Will try this method.
