Need for the new module release 2.1

Talk about writing modules and plugins for CMS Made Simple, or about specific core functionality. This board is for PHP programmers that are contributing to CMSMS not for site developers

Why dont you upgrade CMSMS as well. There are some bugfixes/securityfixes and features included in later releases. latest stable is 1.2.2

News versions can be found:

Do you get any message while running the later news-version?

If you still have the unpacked CMSMS from when you installed it the first time you should be able to upload/FTP the News folder into Modules and then run install from Extensions > Modules...
