Multi-site CMSMS

Post by cmsuser »

CMSMS is a great product that is easy to use & administer. It fits my customers needs in every way except it doesn't support multiple websites through one admin. Similar to the commercial license for CMSMS, I would pay extra for CMSMS with multi-site support. The road map page lists multi-site installation as a post v2.0 feature.

Does anyone know when version 2.0 is set to release? Or more importantly when a version with multi-site support is set to release? In the meantime is there a plug-in available that mimics a multi-site setup?

If multi-site support is far off in the future I may have to place some of my clients on a more robust CMS. I don't want to do this as most CMS products are overkill. CMSMS seem to have the right balance of simplicity & features.

Keep up the great work CMSMS developers & let us know when multi-site support will be added. I am eagerly awaiting this feature.

There is a "commercial" dedicated forum here too.

I guess we've forgotten to take that off of the roadmap.

After numerous discussions we've decided that 'multi-site' support in the way that everybody would want it is completely out of scope for CMS Made Simple, because it would take the 'simple' out of it.  The complications would be extensive.

So other than a few hacks that would allow multiple domain names to point to the same CMS install and some such things, there probably won't be any multi-site support in CMS Made simple.

Multi-Lang support: yes
Versioning: yes
Staging (draft/published type stuff): yes
Better Permissions: yes
Multi-Site: No

Ok calguy1000, you can tell more or less what would be the hacks and where, just to get an idea!

I managed to do everything (I think) except for the cache, obviously that content called in several areas are confused!
