Using v1.2 of CMSMS and set up my client as a user and I just going through the site editing procedure.
Whilst logged in as my client, when editing a page then pressing 'submit' we see that the page is automatically switched to not active, so we click on the red cross to make it active and then view the site and the page no longer appears in the subnav. Clicking on the magnifying glass link in the admin to view the specific is fine - it appears, but the link to it in the subnav does not.
What are we doing wrong?

Re: Pages disappear when my client edits the site
did as you suggested and it's just messed up my entire site...login in and clicking on pages just shows a load of gobbledeegook and when viewing my site the content looks the same:
http://www.techsinthecity.co.uk/devsite/
how do I fix that?

Re: Pages disappear when my client edits the site
It's OK - I just downloaded the file again and tried again and the gobbledeegook has now gone...phew! major panic there! I will see if this has fixed the page disappearing act and let you know.
Thanks for the speedy reply.

Re: Pages disappear when my client edits the site
Unfortunately this hasn't fixed the problem - the page is listed as active but still not visible on the website - any ideas?
Re: Pages disappear when my client edits the site
Check if it is set to "show in menu" as well on the options-tab. The issue before the fix was that both "Active" and "Show in Menu" were unchecked on submitting, by a non-admin user.

Re: Pages disappear when my client edits the site
damn - the option to click 'show in menu' isn't available... the only one that appears is 'Cachable' - do I have to give specific permissions to my user for the 'show in menu' to appear?

Re: Pages disappear when my client edits the site
actually I've just logged in as admin and cahnged the page to show in menu and then we've created a news subpage and that has worked fine - so maybe it's just that the old page was edited before I updated that file I downloaded...newly added pages are showing up fine.
thanks for the speedy help - very much appreciated in my moment of panic!

Re: SOLVED : Pages disappear when my client edits the site
Eskymo,
Editing pages won't remove the flags anymore, so indeed logging in as ADMIN once and setting the flags correctly will have fixed it once. The new file will make sure that the flags arent reset anymore and thus remain as they were.
