CMS not working

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

CMS not working

Post by ChrisA »

I am having problems installing this CMS. I have installed PHP-nuke and  PHPwebsite before and this one is just giving me heachaches but I want to try it. I can't find any real manual so I am posting my question

I have downloaded the zipped files

I have uploaded them to a server after I uncompressed them

I have had a system admin create a database on a remote server

Now in the other CMS systems, I have uploaded a SQL database to the sever then went to a page and specified a location of the database server in addition to a username and passowrd and I was good to go.

Following the directions that came with CMS I am just lost? Where are you suppose to setup the database? Mine is called by the webisites name. Where can I create a user since my database has no info in it
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A user with create table rights needs to be setup before hand for the new database.  That's the grant user line in the install directions.

Then, you should be able to just point your browser to your site (http://site/index.php or wherever you installed it) to run the installer.  The installer will create a CMS admin user, ask for the database connection details and setup all the tables in the database.
