can't change permission on files at all.

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

can't change permission on files at all.

Post by Eskymo »

Hi there

I've just done a search on the forum and not found an answer to this, so here goes.

I'm using cuteFTP7 to upload and install CMSMS but it won't let me change any file permissions. When I right click on the specifi folders/files mentioned in Step 4 of the documentation and change from 666 to 777 and then click APPLY and then OK, if I go back and check the permissions are all reset to 666.

So I downloaded filezilla which is the FTP software recomended in the documentation and tried with that and I get the same problem.

Is there any way of getting around this issue so that I can move to the next stage of the installation?

Thanks
E

this is not a CMS made simple issue, it's an issue between your ftp client and/or your host.
