Smarty tags in HTLM issue

Hi folks, maybe Im asking too much but :
Im trying to place a smarty tag in the HTML area but the {} charcaters are being replaced.
What Im after is something like etc but what i am getting is athe {,} beig replaced by
this kinda thing %20%7
Im using TINYMCE basic from the latest install.  But - maybe there is some workaround???

I'm not sure, as I don't use the wysiwyg, but I'm betting that the editor is transforming { and } on you. Why don't you try shutting the wysiwyg off as a test?
