hello all. im running v 1.1.3.1
i got a layout from oswd. this is the design im using: http://www.oswd.org/design/information/id/2480
and here is the design in use at another site: http://www.backwoodslumber.com/
my site : http://www.kwiktech.com.au/
Now im having a little trouble with the images.
if you look on the backwoods site you will see that when you go from the "home page" to the "company profile" page to the "our cabbins" page the image on the right next to the content changes.
he has his image with a little caption underneath.
How does he do it? thats what i want. a different image for each page.
at 1st i thought maybe a custom tag then i thought a gllobal content block but then i realised that i cant use either because i would have to put those in the template....
then i thought maybe i should try and insert the htlm code for each page....
then a helpfull person on irc sugguested maybe use "section image" from the forge .... but i dont think thats what i need either
just wish i knew how this guy from backwoods lumber does it... i even sent him an email asking him but no reply
im just not sure. im stumped
im sure once someone shows me i will go: ahhhh

holy crapola. i just had a look at some of the cms show offs. looks like i have a lot to learn.
Re: Help. Tag? content block? what do i need?
He has a second content block in the template like {content block="images"} this gives an edit box like the {content} with the toolbar, so he just inserts an image and puts a some words below it...

Re: Help. Tag? content block? what do i need?
thanks for the reply mark
ok so in laymans terms.... (this is my 1st attempt at any sort of web design.)
ok so i should go to the template >
this is the code in the themplate >
A few simple clicks and we are connected. You are allways in control. See the FAQ page for a video demonstration.
and edit it so it looks like >
{content block="images"}
save that>
then in the admin panel it will magicly apear under Content>Images
then i can insert the images and text just like i can in Content>Pages ?
i just wanna get it rite in my mind before i mess arround with it too much.
See where i add in the template {content} for actual content it makes sense to me because i can link up the {content} tag in my mind with the admin panel and the location in the menu as Content>Pages
i get what you are saying about the second content block... but i dont get where the edit box for {content block="images"} will be. Or how it will get there. i guess i have to add it somehow?

When you use it like you said, in template {content block="images"} this images can be any words you want, I make them all one word...
Then when you add/edit a page using this template you will see new content edit box just like Content: only it will, in my case, have Images: as it's name with a toolbar and all...
Go to Extensions > Tags > content to read all the parameters it takes...
