using different templates for the same website?!

i developed a site, using the css-dropdown-menu - but because of some problems with older browsers i want to give users the chance to load the same page with another menu.
All  content is the same.
I tried to copy my template, replaced the menu an wantet to call the page like this " http://mywebsite.com/index.php?template_id=8 ", but that doesnt work.

i dont want to have both menus on the site, it should be either css-menu or the alternativ, depending on what the user wants to use...

Is there any way to use a website with 2 different templates?

Have you tried using the Browser Styler module to set a different template/stylesheet to a different browser(s)
