SOLVED: Guestbook - how to remove unwanted fields?

Hello all,

I just installed the latest Version of Guestbook. So far it is running fine, but I want to remove the e-mail and homepage fields since this is the main attraction for spammers.

When I simply remove the corresponding form inputs in the template, the guestbook won't work anymore .... no error message, nothing :-(

Any ideas?

EDIT: Well, I applied a quick hack - just made the fields hidden  ;D
