Hi,
I recently installed the newest CMSMS version (1.1) on a UNIX server. Most everything went without hitch, except for the fact that I can't seem to get the WYSIWYG editor working, not even in IE (6).
I reinstalled the whole thing from svn, still no luck. It stubbornly stays hidden. Yes, I gave the group permissions needed, I changed my preferences to using it - no luck at all.
Now, I can just as well write html myself, but this is a page I will turn over to a client, so I need a WYSIWYG for him.
Any ideas? I searched through this forum, but apparently many are missing the TinyMCE lately and there is only one solution shown for a windows server.
Greetings
Kizil

Re: TinyMCE not available (solved)
Hi again,
ok - I discovered the problem, at least on my server.
As however this may be the case for others, especially if their hosts changed security measures between one update and the next one: it was a question of changing the folder permissions from 775 to 755.
I'd have been still wondering about this, if I had not started uploading another WYSIWYG editor to compare and perchance noticed the differing permissions on the folders. A quick check with mine host cleared this up, they recently added security measures including the restrictions on file/folder permissions.

Re: TinyMCE not available (solved)
Hi Kizil,
I am facing the same problem with the tinyMCE editor....it just does not seem to show up even inspite of changing the permisions.
Could you please give a detailed explanation of how you went about resolving the issue?
Any help much appriciated.

Hello,
Have you tried CMSms 1.1.1 ?
Do you see TinyMCE installed in the module manager ?
Have you selected it in your user preferences ?

Re: TinyMCE not available (solved)
Hi,
At first let me thank you Pierre for your quick response to this issue.
To give you a detail about the problem, I have setup CMSMS 1.1 on my local server (using WAMP), php 5. It works like a champ on my local environment.
When I installed CMSMS(same version) on the server, it was installed perfectly, everything is working, I tried to changed the permision of every single folder and file under the tiny mce folder to 777, however the editor just doesnt seem to like the settings
.
It gives a Javascript syntax error on line no 2 char 1. I have been trying to figure out what this error is but just no good.
I tried replicating the tinyconfig.php file on the server with my local copy but still no good.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Neelesh

Re: TinyMCE not available (solved)
Hello again,
please check if it is 1.1.1 or 1.1.
If everything is ok with a local install and somewhat broken on a remote one, it may be an FTP upload problem if you are installing via FTP. Please check your FTP upload logs.

Re: TinyMCE not available (solved)
Hey Pierre,
I am sorry, I appologize for leading you to the wrong direction.
I realized the problem was with rights on the sevrer. I was just browsing through my server logs and noticed that it showed /Modules/TinyMCE was writable by all on the sever.
I changed the permisions to 755 and out of the blue it started working.
I am sorry to bother you much about this but I really appriciate all your efforts and cooperation.
I hope this helps others as well who face this similar kind of an issue.
Take Care,
Neelesh
