CMSMS has a really powerful templating engine! It is too bad that this cannot be adapted for use on MediaWiki.
It would be great to be able to make specific Templates for categories or namespaces on MediaWiki using the CMSMS templating system. I love how you can adjust the granularity to even choose the style-sheet to use with a template.

CMSMS Templating Engine for MediaWiki
Re: CMSMS Templating Engine for MediaWiki
Kendo451,
I don't understand your question, do you want a template to show material stored in a wiki database. Do you want to have a template prepared that has approximatly the same layout as mediawiki? Is your idea to install mediawiki on your side (or your customers) and show/edit the contents (in other words a module: CMSwiki - Made Simple

Re: CMSMS Templating Engine for MediaWiki
I would like to be able to use the CMSMS or similar template engine to customize the display of MediaWiki.
More specifically, I would like to be able to set different templates for MediaWiki namespaces or categories.
The actual application is this:
I am building a MediaWiki site for world history. MediaWiki has "skins" but does not appear to have the ability to display a particular skin/theme based on the content category.
I would like to create different themes for different time periods, countries, etc.
I noticed that MediaWiki is being used inside of the CMSMS website and was curious whether anyone has tried making the CMSMS templating engine work with MediaWiki.

Re: CMSMS Templating Engine for MediaWiki
Hello,
sounds to me that the question is "how to skin(theme) categories(namespaces) in MediaWiki ?". Sounds to me it is a MediaWiki question for the Mediawiki support.
The CMSms wiki uses Mediawiki today but with only one theme as far as I've seen. The look deosn't change depending of the category (Installation, tips, howto, dev...)
