Parse error at step seven

Hi,
I uploaded all the files and set the permissions, but when I try to initiate CMS this comes up:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '.' in /homepages/19/d153450178/htdocs/realnewss/cms/cmsmadesimple/lib/smarty/Smarty_Compiler.class.php on line 465

Line 465 in Smarty_Compiler.class.php is:

I've re-uploaded the files in case the initial uploaded files were corrupt, but still the same error.

strange. I was thinking of file corruption too.
Do you have any http log ?

Isn't there some nasty safemode here ?
What lights weren't green in the first steps ?
