News Module Does Not create proper database tables

I recently upgraded my cmsmadesimple to version 1.1 and found that the news module no longer worked.  So I uninstalled and removed the news module and reinstalled version 2.3.  I then tried to create a news article and after doing so the page said my article had been created but no article showed up.  I looked at the database tables and found that the table module_news wasn't even created during the install for some reason..... The table module_news_categories was created though...

Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions on whats going on?


Database is postgres 8.0.1
