using cms after site build

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

using cms after site build

Post by Lefthand »

I have been asked to build a site for a friend using an existing template design. Can I build the site in the conventional way, and then install cms so that my friend can add content as and when - or do I need to work with this system from the out set?

cheers

Ben.

What you should do is, move the template into CMSMS, and than move/create the content in CMSMS. In the wiki is an topic on moving existing pages to CMSMS.

http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... with_CMSms

There is also a nice video on doing so, called "mint chocolate"

http://cmsmadesimple.org/uploads/media/ ... colate.htm

that shows how a page can be CMSMS-ed.
