Gwetting menu right - pulling hair out

Hi

Been two years since I tried CMS made Simple and I just can't get the menu right

I am using the Stylesheets for the template

Accessibility and cross-browser tools 
Navigation: Simple - Vertical
And my own for the look and feel

This is how I want it (non cms)

In CMS I get

http://belair.idmclient.com/index.php?page=weddings

I can't get rid of the bullet points or the Weddings in bold

I look at the source code and I can't see where it gets

li class="currentpage" from as that is not in any of the attached stylesheerts

Believe it or not I have been on just the menu for over 5 hours now and I would appreciate any guidance here.

If you make a look at MenuManager template you will see current page link is formatted with a .
